Mesh Creation limited to 100 Scans (Work-around)

Created by John Tapia, Modified on Mon, 5 Aug at 7:17 PM by Nicholas Czarnick

Issue:

The "Mesh creation is limited to 100 scans" error message displays when attempting to create a unified mesh from a Cintoo crop view, however there are less than 100 scan positions visible in the 3D View.

Reason:

Unified Mesh creation from a Cintoo crop view is limited to 100 scans or less. The number of scans taken into consideration is based on the presence of points within the crop boundary.

A crop boundary may still contain points from scan setup positions that are outside of the crop boundary (e.g. a crop area that includes points from exterior scans that are outside of the crop boundary, far away from the area of interest).

In this case, scan setup positions that are outside of the crop boundary but include points that are inside the crop boundary will count toward the total number of scans for that crop.

Solution:

1. Go to Overview Map, and select the desired crop view from the Crop List.

2. Click Rectangle Select Tool from the left toolbar, and click and drag to select all visible scan icons in the view.

3. Click the Resource Explorer icon from the left toolbar to open the Resource Explorer panel on the right side. Right mouse click on a highlighted scan in the list and click "Isolate."

4. Click "Create Mesh" from the Crop List. The "Mesh creation is limited to 100 scans" error message should not display, and mesh creation should process and complete successfully.
