Share Link Explorer

Share Link Explorer is a dedicated space to manage share links to particular work zones of the project or the entire project. This article describes the functionality of this tool with the actions to be performed on the existing share links. This includes controlling the parameters of share links and deleting them.

Share Link Explorer is located on the Explorer toolbar on the left of the screen next to other Explorers.


To be able to access Share Link Explorer the role of the user must include Share permission in at least one of the work zones of the project.


Note: any share link ever created in the project is visible in the corresponding work zones it was created. Information about them is available and editable.

Structure


Structure of Share Link Explorer content mimics work zone structure with corresponding folders for each individual work zone where all the related share links are stored. Share link counter is on the right to the project and each individual work zone.


Content of Share Link Explorer depends on the work zone chosen in Work Zone Explorer, meaning that only folders corresponding to active work zones are displayed.


Actions


It's possible to create a share link directly from Share Link Explorer actions bar by clicking on the work zone that needs to be shared followed by a click on Create share link button. 


Share link will be saved in the chosen work zone. If created from 3D view share link will contain access to all work zones enabled (either highlighted or checked) in Work Zone Explorer.


Follow the process of creating a share link in Create share link menu appearing on the right. For more information, refer to Share.


Note: all the links have to be named to be distinguished among others. Name of a link will also be appearing as a name of the tab in browser once this link is opened.



At the top of the menu for both Create share link and Edit share link preceded by the word Share work zone name reflecting where the share link is stored. It does not indicate though that this work zone is the one being shared. This depends on the chosen work zones in Work Zone Explorer upon creation.


For an existing share link the actions bar includes:


  • Information - opens a menu on the right with all Properties of a share link, including an easy-to-copy full URL of the link and a QR-code for better usability. Details hold the information about creation date and link creator.


  • Edit link - opens a corresponding Edit share link menu on the right where the parameters of a share link could be adjusted. Adjust the 3D View to get the exact position to be displayed upon opening, then click Update.


  • Delete - removes share link from the project after a confirmation.
  • Copy link - adds the link to cache to be further pasted anywhere.
